There is a big problem that I see just about every day. The problem is a patient is sitting in front of me on their first visit, explaining that they have been suffering from a particular problem for years. When I ask why they waited so long to seek chiropractic care, they usually respond with “I though ti would go away.”
If you are suffering from certain health problems, aches or pains, then you have to do something to make them better. Rather than going away, these problems usually get worse with each progression. Ignoring the problems will almost always lead to further damage. If left uncorrected to long, the damage may become irreparable.
Need some examples? How about two of them? The first is your car tires. If your tires are out of alignment, you have to have them realigned. At first you may only notice a slight shaking as you drive down the road to work or school. The tires then begin to wear faster and faster. This leads to a more noticeable shake, along with the car now starting to pull to one side or the other. The longer it goes on uncorrected, the more noticeable it becomes. What’s the end result? A blowout going down the road at 65 mph! No one reading this wants that to happen I’m sure.
My second example for your is a bit more health based. Let’s talk cavities! Everyone’s favorite reason for the dentist right? When a cavity is forming, there are no symptoms. But sugars are breaking down the tooth enamel, the tooth starts to decay, and boom, all of sudden there is a cavity formed. If you don’t fill treat and fill the cavity, more decay and rotting takes place, and the end result is a tooth removal (extraction) or a root canal. But, when your dentist says you need it filled to prevent all this, you don’t think twice about it.
In both examples, small problems lead to big problems. In both examples, fixing the problem early is not only safer, but it’s also much, much less expensive and makes so much more sense.
If you are suffering with a problem, even a minor problem, do something now to fix it. Don’t wait until the damage is irreparable. A chiropractic office is a great first stop. If your problem is not something that can be helped through chiropractic care, will get sent to the appropriate health care professional. Our office has great working relationships with a number of different types of physicians, both primary care docs and specialists.
The five most dangerous words I hear patients say is, “maybe it will go away.”The truth of the matter is that it usually doesn’t go away, your body just gets used to it, and that vicious cycle starts all over again. More than likely, it will get worse, and that’s the vivid truth of the matter. Call your chiropractor today, and get on the right path, the path that leads getting better and improved health!
